ill try to find sum pix of Nick from back in 2000 or 2001 or 2002 where i think he looks lost already.  with this 1 hes smiling but look at his eyes they look sad to me

I still think he's really cool too, but I know what you mean.  I totally agree... if you look at him in his earlier movies, even those from around 2000 - 2001 (hmm...), he does look very different.  Really, he doesn't even look like the same man at times.  It's not his age, since he's definitely not old and a few years doesn't make much difference in a person's looks... he's just lost too much weight and doesn't look as healthy and virile as he once did.  His personality has changed as well.  He's lost his fire and passion.

Growing older does not mean that people have to get all serious acting or dull.  I know people that are in their forties and they seem like late twenties in personality and they have a lot of fun in life.
