In the above article he says he knew he was in love the first moment he met her.. New realtionships are the most exciting, but true love is something that grows in time, I don't believe in real love at first site for people. To me True love grows in time..-- Edited by Patty at 20:23, 2006-07-08

This is exactly true. You're right.

You know, I completely respect Nicolas as an actor, and I'm sure he's a very nice and interesting man in real life. I don't think he's an idiot by any means, and of course we all know my opinion of him sexually But he just seems a bit... um... naive and idealistic when it comes to relationships.

He told Patricia that he was going to marry her within hours of meeting her. They were technically married for six years, but only living together for eight months. They only appeared together for public image.

He married Lisa Marie very quickly after meeting her... they were only together for three months, legally seperated for over two years before he met Alice. Time and time again, Nic said in interviews that he regretted how things went down between him and Lisa and would very much like to get back together with her.

Now he's head over heels with Alice, says he was from the very beginning, and she's his "angel". Um... yeah... okay. He said all those things about many other women in his past, even while he was secretly living apart from them. Look how THOSE relationships turned out.

I adore and admire so many facets of Nicolas Cage, but believe NOTHING that I read or hear him say about his love life in these interviews. He's an idealistic fool when it comes to relationships, and envisions himself as a hero who fills a void in the woman's life and earns her eternal adoration... nothing more. He's an actor... he says a lot of what he says because he's trying to convince everyone (including himself) that things are really, truly different this time.

Wonder why he feels the need to be married? It seems there are a lot of men that enjoy the single life . It seems he likes to be married, and then they don't work, like with his first two. He probably could have enjoyed being a single guy if he would have allowed himself to enjoy all that goes with being single. The grass always seems greener on the other side to some people.

Hahahahaha lonely Nic never lonely, never will only in his head , he don't have to be marry . He always will find a girl or woman to share his bed anytime or a friend that will like to listen about his fears or hopes , he can get all the one night stands he want . i don't know him intimately Kimmy but i do know someone who knows someone who knows him well and through that grapevine i've heard he is a lonely man when he's not involved with someone and thats one of the reasons he acts so impulsively in love affairs. hard to believe isn't it?

I think He gave an interview or something once saying he felt lonely I think it was after Lisa Marie. I think I read that somewhere, maybe. I think maybe he's the type that can't be alone. But a person can be unmarried and not be alone, or can have a relationship and not have to get married too quickly and still not be alone..

I think it's more sad that this is not shocking news to any of us....hence a pattern. And he's over 40 so that's a lot of years to be lonely, always seeking attention.

That's so sad. You know, for all the crap I say about Alice and the things he does in his life, I would never want him to be alone and miserable. If finding the right woman would bring him true happiness, then I hope it happens. For that matter, if it does turn out to be Alice, then that's fine with me. But it just doesn't seem like she's the one, based on what he's said and how he acts.

Poor Nic. That being said, I do empathize with him to a certain extent. It sucks to be alone.
