I just found this pic of Nic when he was younger. It must be a "teen thing" to wear your hair like this...lol. You can tell who Weston's Dad is for sure too.

From everything I've read, Nicolas loves Weston very very much.  I would hate for my dad to be married to someone just a couple of years older than me, it would be weird.

Huh ..you know I am thinking that Alice is a bad example for WESTON ! Nic should open his eyes and stop to play like if he is a teen-ager  goof dude !"

Weird is putting it politely! I would freak out!!! I wonder if she's ever put the moves on him? Sorry. Didn't mean to be negative. I just really wish this whole chapter of his life would turn its' page and move on. So what did everyone do this weekend? I worked.

I wonder how many correlations there are with her and other things changing dramatically?

Let's see: Nic's health got down to the scary point = medics on alert, Weston going goth, the economy in LA boutiques has grown 562%, the drinking age in LA dropped to 19 (oh wait, that was just for them).....

Seriously,  Nic is a great actor and a very nice person and I truly hope that if he is ever unhappy at all in his life, that he will do what it takes to make himself happy again.    So I hope he makes decisions in his life that bring him happiness and a joyful life.

I can't ditto that.  You really think Nicholas should be selfish and do whatever meakes him happy?  I don't.  He is a grown man who has made his own decisions and makes his own messes which he has too live with.  But he has two children he has to raise and set some sort of example for.  A good parent puts there children first no matter what.  How many of you are parents?  Do you do what's best for them or do you do what you selfishly want and let your children pay the ultimate price? I've also heard that Weston has more maturity than his father and is fed up with Nicholas.  This I heard from a friend who lives in Los Angeles.  I know I'm new hear but I'm hear because I appreciate Nicholas's work.  Sorry if I got anyone upset.

I do agree with some of what you say, but Nicolas seems to be a good father at least from what I have heard and read.  I just think that people should be happy and I hope that he is, I wish happiness to everyone.

No, it's cool (at least as far as I'm concerned).  I don't have kids, but I do empathize with your point of view.  When you have children, you are essentially pushing aside a piece of yourself and putting them in its place.  Since I know nothing about Nicolas aside from what I've heard and read, I can only garner opinions from that.  He seems like a man who is always searching for something to make his life more complete, and has a lot of self-doubt about whether or not he can do it.  Sometimes (in my opinion) he chooses things that are not a good investment in the long run... but again, that's just the opinion of someone who not only doesn't know him, but doesn't know anyone who knows him (besides some of the ladies on this board).

As for Weston being furious with Nicolas, I've heard his brother Christopher is the same way... that he's supposedly "gone Hollywood" and is not the same person he once was, whatever that means.

Christopher is ALWAYS pissed about something. He's the most insane member of that family if you ask me. He's ALWAYS angry at EVERYONE in his family. And to hell what he thinks about Nic going 'hollywood'. Christopher is MORE Hollywood than he cares to admit!

I don't think it's a good idea to be a martyr and sacrifice your whole life for your kids.  I have 2 special needs kids, so I am all for doing things that make me happy.  If I'm happy, then I can be a good mom.  I've dropped a lot of friends, and some family, because they are "drainers" and that affects my health physically and emotionally - in turn affecting my kids.

I strive to give my kids what they need, but I learned the hard way to take care of myself first.  I can't take care of anyone if I'm dead and running myself to the grave is not being a responsible parent.

No one is saying that drinking or drugs is responsible or considered taking care of yourself just because they may make you happy for a bit, but being in a bad relationship or situation isn't smart.  Staying in it doesn't benefit the kids any.

I've said before I think Nic should concentrate more on being a hands on father, but if he needs a vacation he should go.  Rather that than the negative vibes coming off him to Kal and Weston!  His wife is a big girl now and can take care of herself.

Sinclair, I admire you for your strength and for being a good mom.   It is smart that you got rid of what was draining to you so that you can be better for your kids.

I'm not saying that Nick should stay in a really bad marriage but if the marriage really isn't that bad and you have children to raise I think it is the adults responsibility to try there hardest to make the marriage work.  I think about poor Kal-el here.  If Nick is pulled in to many directions and doesn't cut back in other directions he may become that sickly looking zombie again.  Picture his life with me.  He has to make time for Weston on the weekends right?  If he gets divorced from Alice how will he fit in Kal-el as well on the weekends?  Can anyone imagine the resentment Weston may fell towards Kal-el?  I can.  And because we all know that Nick is a workaholic and he doesn't seem to be the type to give it all up to raise his kids, just exactly when will he see Kal-el grow up?  If Alice is a bad mother who does nothing but shop and let nannies raise her child exactly what will happen to Kal-el?  If Nick loves his little boy he has to put the boy first.  Nick wanted children.  Now he has them.  Just what he does with them and how they are raised is another story.  JMHO.

It's a good opinion and we all agree!  We've said those same things.  We are all concerned that Kal is getting the short end of the stick.

I think it is his child because he certainly has enough money to get the baby's blood tested if he wanted to. As far as weekends go, I doubt that Nicolas' schedule is like the normal father with weekend visits. He most likely sees Weston when he wants and as often as he can and if he ever divorced he could have the two children together, wouldn't he be doing that now anyway when he sees Weston?   Though, I am guessing that they have a good relationship and Nic does what he can to be a good dad. I read somewhere that when Nicolas was with Patricia Arquette that she said in an interview that Weston Always came first in his life. (by the way, Patricia Arquette got married a few days ago).  I don't see it as children getting a bad deal when parents divorce, as long as the parents both show and give love and attention to the children. I think its worse for children to live in a  home of parents that don't get along. But none of us really know if that is the case of Nicolas and Alice anyway.

The kids have lots of stuff, just not a lot of Nic's time.  Undivided attention is priceless for kids.

I agree Sinclaire.  Many grown ups are complete screwups who can't find happiness in life because of the selfish and self centered decisions there parents personally made when they were young.  The kids grow up believing that it never gets better and this is all that there is in life which just makes the circle go round and round some more.

Kids suffer big time when parents go off and do there own thing thinking or wanting to believe that it doesn't effect there kids.  Sad really.  Really sad.  Money never buys happiness and you can't buy love, security and a solid founation for your children or yourself.

I do have to ask, how does anyone know that the kids don't have Nic's time? I am sure they do..  I have read that he even brought Weston many times to sets where he was even when out of the country. I have heard he is a good dad.  You don't have to be married to be a good dad. He wasn't married to Weston's mother and I read he always put Weston first.

( Here my opinion )

I really doubt Alice is a good mother and I am sure she voluntarily forgot to take her anti-baby pill  ... sure Nic was in chock when he got the news from Sushi girl  not long after that crazy speeding wedding  honeymoon   ...I guess she is NUMERO UNO  SHOPPER  and GOLD DIGGER that is her main life ...she wants to be a part of the rich glamourous world thats it..I wonder if she have so many friends in the  jet set ??!!     The sooooooooooooo good Sushi mom LOL

I've always heard he's a good dad too. He loves Weston. And Kristina is SURE he gets time with Dad. I haven't heard anything about Weston being fed up with Nic but it would make sense. Kristina is still FURIOUS about this latest marriage and it probably rubs off on Weston. He probably wonders what the hell Dad was thinking with. Hmmm. I wonder. That little head perhaps????

I'm not saying he's a bad father, I'm saying he's busy.  You can't always be taking the infant along to Weston's time and school is important so Weston can't be traipsing off to wherever Nic is.  Nic works a lot, and is now out with his young wife a lot w/out Kal....he's just pulled in many directions and eventually it's going to crack him.  Then what good as a father will he be?

There is a balance between taking care of yourself, your family, and work.  It doesn't seem like Nic has balance, but maybe he does and I just don't recognize it.
