About Me

I was born in a shoe box... held together with duct tape... down in the ghetto ( in the ghettoooooooo...... )

Just joking.  I was born in Sparta, IL on May 10, 1972, the oldest of two children (brother is five years younger).  My sun and moon sign are both in Taurus.  Not sure what that means, exactly, but I think it means I'm just extra-stubborn.  For movie buffs out there, "In the Heat of the Night" (the original with Sidney Poitier) was filmed in Sparta, and my dad and uncle got to watch them film many of the scenes.  The first house I lived in (until I was 5) was haunted.  Sorry, I don't remember a whole lot about that because I was pretty small, but my parents and grandmother have lots of stories to tell

When I was 12, I moved from Illinois to Oklahoma because of my dad's work.  I went to college at Oklahoma State and graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems, minor in Finance, which proved to be largely useless because our technology and available classes were in the dark ages.  OSU is mostly a veterinarian's school (I found this out later - d'oh).

I guess by now everyone knows I work at Hell Depot and that I will hopefully be crawling out of there on bleeding knees to a much better job.  When I'm not scraping dead rodents off the floor or getting bitched at by my psycho hose-beast boss, I like to drool over Nic (duh), write (double duh), sing, watch movies, cook, play computer games and find little mindless adventures in almost anyplace around me.  I would love to travel someday - my ideal vacation would be to visit England, Ireland and Scotland and take tours of all the old haunted castles.  That would be just too cool for words.

Never been married, no kids.  Don't know if I'll get to do either in the future.

Dr. Sexgod (or, "How I Learned To Love Nicolas Cage")

It's funny... I have known about Nic for quite a long time now, but for some reason have just been really "into" him for the past year or so.  The first full movie I ever saw him in was "Raising Arizona" (I say "full movie" because I do recall seeing a couple of scenes of "Valley Girl" before that but don't remember anything about it).  I was pretty young back then, maybe 13 or so, so he really didn't register on my radar.  Not sure why.  Anyway, fast forward all the way to "City of Angels".  I was watching this movie with my mom and was thinking about what amazing eyes he had, and how he was disturbingly sexy, waaaaaay too sexy to be a messenger of God.  Then my mom piped up.

"He's homely.  Who ever thought this man could play a leading male role in a movie?  He's kind of... monkey-like.  I don't like his face.".

I swear to you, I really am genetically related to her.  But our tastes in men (and in clothing) are so far removed from each other it's not even funny.  I'm just now starting to forgive her for saying that about him, but it's been a long hard journey.  She still doesn't know that I think he's hot.

Fast forward again to last year, mid-spring.  I was on vacation, and decided to rent a movie.  I hadn't seen "National Treasure" yet, and it sounded interesting.  Stupid me, I completely did not realize that it starred Nic.  I popped in the DVD and was falling in unbridled crush in 10 minutes.  I had rediscovered Nicolas Cage, like a gorgeous piece of jewelry that was hidden away in the back of a drawer for too many years... and he didn't even need to be cleaned up.  After watching that movie (4 times), I hopped on the Internet and happily discovered that a few others had a crush on my magic boyfriend too.  So now I'm here.

Wow that's somethin'! I could never write a bio on myself like that!

Ah! Your mom thinks he's ugly!! Ahhh! How is that possible!? Me and my mother have a very similar taste in guys. We both like Nic ^.^ But I'm far more... infatuated with him.
But you should definitely tell your mother what you think about him ;)

Well.. you're not alone- in a way. My sister does not think he's attractive at all. But then again, our tastes couldn't be further apart

I think he was the perfect man to play in City of Angels. I mean, Angels are beautiful- So they cast the right man! :)

...er, why does my thing say "I loved him in Zandalee"? I've never even seen that... lol

my favorite is city of angels because the kiss scene is so good and he is so sexy in it.  as far as acting goes, my favorite of his performance is Matchstick men.  also i was watching the DVD of Ghost Rider the other day and i really liked how when he did the scene with Eva Mendes where she comes to where he lives and she kisses him and he stops her and tells her its a bad time, i love how his voice is all whispery in that scene. i find that so very very sexy.  I think he is a very sexy man.

I like his soft, whispery voice.

I don't understand why he's never in these "sexiest dads" or "sexiest celebrities" articles you see in magazines. It's always the same guys... Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Jude Law, Tom Cruise. Sorry, but I think Nic blows them all away, but that's just me.

they pick guys like Matthew M. or Brad Pitt because of how they look like Matthew's muscles.  I think that Nic is very good looking on the outside, but that his attractiveness and sexiness comes from the inside out and he has something special that is from his outside looks, his mind and his eyes and the superficial people in the magazines and the industry do not see that deeply to see it because they are superficial. thats what i think.  Nic has charisma, sexiness, and depth.

He is very intense and mysterious, and that's a major turn-on for me.
