It made me so sad to see him drink himself to death like that... what a waste of human life. And yes, it did piss me off too, how he didn't even try to get help, how he just wanted to die. That movie was great but so depressing.

I thought he would have changed his mind after he got with her and would decide to live. I was disappointed too. But they both did an amazing job and very well deserved the recognition they received for this one.

My uncle (dad's brother) is an alcoholic. I should say "recovering alcoholic" because they never really get better... they just learn to cope. But that's another story altogether.

My daughter's Dad was an alcoholic. He came home drunk one night and when my daughter got up the next morning to ask him for her lunch money, she found him dead in the living room. He was only 39 yrs. old. Takes alot of drinking and drugging to die at 39 folks.
That's one of the reason this movie hits me on many levels.
