So I just got back from a consignment shop... found a black ribbed turtleneck which I needed BAD, and a pair of low-rider stretch jeans (boot cut). Spent $20 for the whole thing.... you just can't beat it.
I refuse to pay full price for ANYTHING. It's just part of who I am.

I love consignment shops and secondhand stores. You can get brand name stuff way cheap. The turtleneck was from The Gap and the jeans were NY Jeans. I was very excited because I really need clothes bad... the stuff I have now is big and baggy.
Some of the consignment shops here in the city have layaway... I live for that. LOL.

I am the queen of the good deal....lol. I just blew almost my entire xmas bonus on clearance clothes from all over.
On Newport News they have stuff marked below cost and I got some real leather jeans for 12.99 and a pair of suede jeans for the same price. I also got a suede skirt from HSN for just over $10 bucks. (will go nice with the matching boots and suede shirt I have stashed from other sales)
Being it rarely gets cool enough down here to wear anything with sleeves, my time is very limited to wear anything "wintery", so I have to take full advantage when I can....lol.

Your lucky D. We have one consignment shop but they don't offer lay-a-way. It's also very small with little to choose from.

I LOVE Newport News. So much so that they just gave me a credit increase! LOL!
Just got back from shopping today... I found not one but TWO pairs of shoes! This is a miracle for me, because I'm extremely picky about my footwear. They're both sandal heels, sexy thin straps, one pair is red and the other is a soft warm pink. Very, very cute... and HOT! And best of all, I paid very little for them... the pink pair was $10 and the red pair was $9!
I also got a lightweight turquoise sweater with a chiffon ribbon and beading around the neck... it ties in a little bow on the side. Very retro and Marilyn-esque, and only $5!!! My final purchase was a pair of black stretch boot-cut jeans for $25 - they were originally $40 but my mom gave me a $15 gift cheque for them. Wow! I really tapped into my inner Alice today. Now I need a cute handbag to match my shoes... oh, and maybe some turquoise heels to go with my sweater too. I looked for some today, but no luck so far.
