Now that my brother has chocolate hearts in his eyes for this woman, my parents are turning their focus to me. Gack. When we were BOTH single, they thought nothing of it. Now they want me to be paired off too. I'm certainly not against the idea, but it's not like there's any candidates on the horizon. They keep saying, "Now promise us that if you meet someone who might be Mr. Right and he wants to take things as quickly as Bubba and Little Bit have, that you won't push him away or run... because sometimes love happens quickly.".
I think it would be funny as **** if I met someone and got married 2 weeks later, just to see what they would say.

She's lived there for several years. Actually, she was born and raised in Louisiana, then her family moved to TX a few years ago. She will be moving up here to Oklahoma next July. My brother normally drives down there to see her, but she's taken the train to see us once before (that was when I was nearly smothered to death with PDA). Did I mention that they will be spending a whole week together on Valentine's Day? My mother has warned them to keep the lurvefest to themselves and not try to drag it in MY backyard, so hopefully they will abide by her wishes.
Hopefully they'll listen to her! I'm glad that I could care less about Valentine's Day. In my opinion it's such an overrated holiday!
When I was young, it meant something to me... but only because it meant something to everyone else. Now it's so clichè and overhyped. It's not even romantic anymore... it's childish.
I think a warm summer night under the stars is far more romantic than Valentine's Day.

Yeah it's too commercial anymore. It's all about money & less about romance! UGH! I find it way more romantic to spend time out under the stars myself. Or just a quiet evening alone.
Sorry gals, but when I am with a man, Valentine's is a day for me to either cook a special dinner (if he doesn't take me out) and do something nice for him. I usually end up getting flowers or stuffed animals and some special attention. Oh Yeah, I forgot about the mushy cards we exchange too. This year will be a very special Valentines for us. I know we will go all out to make up for the years apart! I'm actually looking forward to it this year.

Well, this is great for women like you who have someone to share it with. But for single women like us, it sucks. BIG TIME. And I've even been dumped on Valentine's Day, after I went all out for a guy I thought really liked me. There is no humiliation that can compare to that.
Not trying to sound like a downer, Cheri... I'm just sayin'... my luck with men has always SUCKED anyway and February 14th is a day I try to convince myself is not important.

I totally understand that Trace. Don't forget that I was alone for the last 5 Valentines and they sucked big time. Believe me I know days like that are no fun when you are alone.

I've been alone for the past SEVERAL V-Days, so yes, it does suck. I hope I didn't sound bitchy in that last post... I'm happy for you, really. But there are really just too many reminders out there of how nice it would be to have someone to share your life with. I try to convince myself that it's great to be single... and it DOES have its advantages, but to be honest I'd rather be with someone any day of the week.
My mother, of all people, tries to make me feel better about it. "Your life is free and unburdened! Outside of work you can make your own rules and do whatever you want!". Frankly, I don't care about that. I have nobody to do anything with, so what does it matter?
Sorry for spouting off like that... and gee, I'm actually sober right now. Ironic, isn't it?

Hey Trace, it's ok. I'm torn between the "2 worlds", single or coupledom. The years I've been alone I wish I had someone around for company and help me when I was ill. Help with all these dogs, take me to functions so I wouldn't be alone. And lord knows, help me secure the house for all those damn hurricanes. Someone to snuggle up to, or talk to about just things, work etc. Take the pressure off of me to get the bills paid if something happened to my job.
BUT....now I wonder what to do about having to cook again when I don't feel like it. And all that laundry. Someone taking over the tv remote and all the movies I will miss because a ball game will be on. Sharing my computer and my time on it, because he will want to go online. Someone wanting me to do things after work, when now I like to get undressed and just hang out. Sharing one bathroom and trying to get work on time. Someone wanting sex when I may not be in the damn mood.....lol. Having his friends over when I'm used to having the house to myself. Like I said, there are alot of adjustments to be made.
I may end up really SINGLE in just a few months if I can't adjust, or I find that I don't want to give up my space anymore. You may not have it so bad G/f!....lol

Well, I'm not trying to belittle your problems, but they are ones that I would not mind having. I would rather battle someone over the remote control than have it all to myself because nobody is there to share it with me.
But, oddly enough, when someone does show interest in me, I don't get excited over it. I guess it's because I've been burned so much in the past... now it's like "what the **** ever".

Boy do I hear you on that. I had a guy cheat on me right on Valentine's Day which is also 2 days before my birthday as well! So Happy Valentine's/birthday to me!
His lips are very sexy... they're pink like bubblegum, and I wanna chew on them. LOL.

Very yummy lips!! Could just lick them. And I like his straight teeth. I watch his mouth when he speaks if I'm not drowning in his eyes.
Ya know, I think we're in so much trouble if we ever meet him! I can just imagine Sinclaire staring at his teeth whenever Ella gets done sucking on his lip. Cheri doing god only knows what! And D licking the poor guys hairline! As for me, well....
Yep we're definetly gonna spend a night in the pokey!

He would be attacked by five eager, probing mouths all at the same time. Cheri would be using hers on his hands. But DAMN, he's just so tasty and lickable! Always has been....
and always will be!

It's fun to compare his looks now to when he was in his 20's. I think he looks just as handsome, but more distinguished now/less goofy. Don't get me wrong, I love goofy... especially the way he was working it in "Raising Arizona" and "Honeymoon in Vegas", but there's something about that smoldering mystery that goes along with a few years of experience that is very exciting to me.
