I wanted to come by and let you guys know that we're back in Hell-ay after the holidays and my Mom is holding her own. She's very weak but hopefully will hang on as long as possible. I know this is morbid for some but I need opinions. My father wanted my sis and I to help write her obituary. And I'm not so good at this. Has anyone here done this before? Here's some of what we have thus far but I don't know if you give out so much info in the papers for security purposes or do you herald the person's life work? Let me know either way okay?
KATHLEEN KENNEDY (Producer)
In 1993, after more than a decade with Amblin Entertainment, the most successful production entity in Hollywood, KATHLEEN KENNEDY and FRANK MARSHALL (Producers) founded their own company, The Kennedy/Marshall Company. The first two films out of the starting gate were directed by Marshall and produced by Kennedy: Alive (1993) and Congo (1995), followed by a childrens' film, Indian in the Cupboard (1995), directed by Frank Oz.
The careers of Kennedy and Marshall, who married in 1987 and have two daughters, have the contours of a fairy-tale. Together with Steven Spielberg, they brought to life dozens of the most commercially-successful and culturally hot-wired films in movie history. These include the Indiana Jones trilogy, the Back to the Future trilogy, Jurassic Park, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Color Purple, Twister and Schindler's List.
Kennedy moved to Los Angeles in 1977, shortly after graduating from San Diego State University. Within just a few months she landed a job with Steven Spielberg as a production assistant on 1941. The relationship between Spielberg, Kennedy and Marshall deepened with each successive project: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Poltergeist and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
Kennedy grew up in Northern California. In the 1850's the area had been occupied by Chinese who left many artifacts behind, which made for an exotic child's playground. These memories fed into a strong awareness of Asian culture, which contributed to her interest in Snow Falling On Cedars.
She entered San Diego State University as a nursing major but soon abandoned that field for telecommunications. She learned the tools of the trade by volunteering to work at the campus' public television station, eventually working as a camera operator for NFL football games and going on to produce the talk show, You're On.
Sounds like you're already off to a good start. It sounds very professional. Of course, the copyright on the article is 1999, so you might have some trouble finding who originally wrote it.

I don't need to know who originally wrote this article. Maybe I'm at a loss for words but I think I can swing it. Maybe it's just lack of sleep but that was some response. Slapping that link up there like I've done something wrong. Actually I did do some research to see what exactly it is that everyone already knows about my mom. But it really isn't anyone's business.
I have more important things to worry about than this board right now. Sorry. I won't be back. Nic doesn't live here anymore anyway. And he's decided on taking another road in life. The one less chosen. He's cutting WAY back on his acting and I admire him for that. Putting what is actually MORE important first. So with that I'll sign off. Take me off the moderator list or whatever. I won't be back.
If you want to think you're being accused of something, then so be it. I didn't accuse you of anything. I simply said that, since this article so closely resembles what you've already written, perhaps this would be a better point of reference than anything we could provide.

Ella, I don't think an obituary should be written until after she is already gone. I'm sure its hard enough for u with her being ill. God Bless you all
Ella ...I know what you are going through. It is really hard, I tell you that because I lost my mom from lung cancer in 2004. I can tell you I was desperated and heartbroken, I miss my mother very much.
If you feel to talk about this, you are welcome always. You have only one mom in life. Right now, the best thing for you, your mom and family, is to take the more time you can with your mother and tell her how much you love her, be supportive to your father, I guess he will need you around ! I am very sorry for your mom honestly ! [[HUGS]]
Kimmy
PS. I am sure the girls here are with you and appreciate you, I don't think anyone wanted to hurt you or make you feel bad.
