My husband flew to Rhode Island on Monday, and I wasn't scared, just thought a lot about it.  And how I could cope as a single mom of 2 special needs kids.  I really feel for those widows.

I watched alot of the stories about how it happened and how the towers fell on a couple different channels. The part that gets me really sick is the ppl that lept to their deaths to get away from the inferno. Something like 30 ppl. They showed them in free fall. I cried my ass off watching that. I don't think they should have shown them. The families may have recognized them and that is not something I would want to see anyone I love doing at all!

Yeah, I know.  I freaked out over that too... that, at the moment, was really the better choice for them.  I don't mean to sound morbid when I say that.

FWIW, most people who jump from a height like that die of shock long before their bodies hit the ground.  It's a very sudden, sane death.  Really, they black out before they suffer bodily damage.  Quite honestly, I'd rather do that than burn to death or have the building fall on me.

I sadly agree with it, the jumpers I guess died before to hit the ground hopelully..probably they pass out ...better in fact than burning alive !!!

I hope what ya'll is saying is true. I would rather like to believe that then they were alive up to the last minute. If I'm not mistaken, they said it was like a 1/4 mile drop. But they were flailing their arms & legs for sometime after they jumped. It just tears me up.

Once a few years ago I seen on TV a building fire in like Chicago I think. A lot of ppl jumped from the windows and it showed them. Some grabbed for broken windows on the way down and their hands were like cut off and they continued to fall. Even a pregnant women took the big plunge. I will never get those images out of my mind. Just like the ones I've seen from WTC. It just grabs me very deep inside and disturbs me quite abit.
