So I was talking to someone on MySpace yesterday, and he asked me about something I wrote in one of my blogs. I mentioned that I needed to update our website, but I didn't say what it was, only that it was "the Harlots' website". He asked about it, and I told him it was a fan site devoted to Nicolas Cage.

Can you believe that he had NO IDEA who Nicolas Cage was? I am totally and completely serious. He had no clue. Even after releasing three movies in the past three months, he had never heard of him. ??????????? Now, keep in mind that this is a man that lives here in the U.S., and has since he was 10 years old (he's originally from Germany). I know this man personally. He's not an idiot by any means. But for some reason, he doesn't know who Nicolas Cage is. I mean, literally had no. clue. WHATSOEVER.
But, strangely enough, he knows about Johnny Depp. Go figure.

Johnny's Pirate movies are very successful, with action figures, etc... Nic's last good movie was National Treasure and there wasn't any product marketing, it did well on it's own.
Wasn't "National Treasure" kind of a surprise hit? I recall hearing from several sources that it wasn't expected to do as well as it did.
Personally, it's one of my all-time favorites.

Are you sure that this guy wasn't just "pulling you leg" "D"? Maybe he was just joking around with you. Otherwise, maybe he lives with his head in a hole in some sand somewhere....lol.Also, he may be too young to know about his movies....lol.

Well, he's a few years older than me, so the age theory doesn't play out. I really don't think he was joking, as this is not a person who jokes around. He's very backwards and left-brained to the Nth degree, though, so it's possible that he just doesn't watch movies unless they're documentaries on the mating habits of Dungeness crabs or something like that.

I see. Well, I have seen some names come up on "E" Entertainment that I have never heard of or even had a clue that they were on some very popular show, so I guess it can happen. But I thought Nic was a pretty famous person. Just goes to show...........ya never know, do ya?....lol

For me, it's not so much that I don't know their names... I just don't care.
If I'm watching TV or a movie and a male celebrity pops up, and he's not Nicolas Cage, Keanu Reeves, David Duchovny, Harrison Ford (but only before age 45) or George Clooney, then I don't give a flying fat rat's ass.
