I read Nic's interview in Reader's Digest and I have to say that he sounds okay. EXCEPT for:
"It's amazing marrying someone who wants absolutely nothing to do with Hollywood. She doesn't want to act, to make movies -- she's interested in clothes and making her own jewelry, and she's very family-oriented."
WTF??!!!! What's that all about????!!!! She's NOT interested in Hollywood so she takes a job as an assistant?????!!!!! Does that NOT make sense to ANYONE???!!!!! He's so freaking full of ****ing crap! Sugar coat it baby!!!!! Noone believes you anyway!!!!
Here's the whole ****ing article if anyone is interested. I may just have to leave this board for good. He's really starting to PISS ME OFF!!! He's such an actor!!!!
SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!! OMFG, someone grab the smelling salts and pick me up off the goddamn floor!!!

He thinks thats cute that she's interested in clothes? really? why doesn't he say if they are Rodeo Drive designer clothes, and if they are, isn't that being Hollywood? I find it interesting that the specific question was to tell them about his Marriage to Alice. And what he did was tell them what Alice is like, not about his marriage to her.
He makes such a big deal about how AMAZING it is that she's (supposedly) not interested in Hollywood.
Nicolas, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are many, MANY women out there who are not interested in Hollywood. It's not "amazing". Well, maybe in your neck of the woods, it is. You grew up in a family of directors, producers, professional dancers, actors, musicians, writers and composers. But not having stars in your eyes and a Gershwin song in your heart over Hollywood is not really that big of a deal. And you know what? A lot of those same people that aren't into the jet-setting lifestyle (and let's not kid ourselves, Alice is VERY much into all of that... she doesn't have the talent aor capability to be a performer, she just lives the lifestyle!) are truly down-to-earth, intelligent, insightful and well-rounded. They're called "normal, everyday folks". It's not "amazing", it's just the way most people on Earth are.
And as for her being "family-oriented"... most of her family lives in another country, dude!! How family-oriented could she possibly be? She lived with a couple of other relatives (a grandpa and some female relative... sorry, I'm drawing a blank... sister?), but spent most of her time on the streets, in billiard halls and booking clubs. Wow, gee, that's what I call "family-oriented". I can just imagine how deeply "into" her family she has been for all of her 19 years on this planet.
Pathetic. Truly pathetic.

And up until this point, I was really working that positive vibe too. I had rainbows shooting out of my ass and everything. Well, back to Square One.
Sorry, ladies.

Readers digest readers still did not get the answer to the question about how his marriage with Alice is.. His answer was in a different direction talking about Alice herself. If I were married, I would have wanted my husband to answer a question like that with how happy he is and how in love we still are after 2 years how great the marriage is going.. Not whether I like clothes or make jewelry.
This is very true, Patty. That is an astute observation. When you read that response, it's almost as if he's evading the question. In fact, in a way it's a little creepy... it's almost like he's talking about the whims and quirks of his teenage daughter or something.
It sounds as if he's reaching out to grasp anything even remotely positive he can say about her existence, even if it's not related to their marriage. There is no talk of THEM, only of HER. Very strange indeed.

And what does he mean by this not being able to move around as much statement? He is only 42, its not like he will be old and crippled soon or anything. Wonder what he meant by this statement- RD: Some people get to a point where they want to spend more time with family and work less. Cage: I think that's very important. I'm blessed that I've married someone who's been supportive of my work and traveled with me, but there will come a time when I'm not going to be able to move around like I am now. That's part of the reason I'm doing more now.
He COULD just mean that he plans on quitting at some point soon. That's always a possibility. He does have other talents besides acting. Directing is DEFINATELY one of them!!!!

Do you think he would like it beacause the waitress asked him to be 24/24 - 7/7 time with her ...so HE would have no time share with nobody else but her ?

He said the words "won't be able to move around as much" That freaks me out, what does he mean? Does he think thats what happens as you get older, I mean even older people move around, his statement has freaked me out and I don't get it.
I think he learned his lesson with Weston - he moved around too much and is missing all kinds of stuff in Weston's life. So with Kal being a baby, he's working as much as he can now.....but Nic is again missing the whole point. As a father he should be there NOW for all the stuff in raising Kal, not just money and travel later. Though those things are important to Kal's mother, they aren't important to Kal who just wants to spend real time (NOT ON A SET) with his daddy.

Sad in a way if ever he stops doing what he likes because of Sushi and the pup ...do you stop working because you have a wife and a puppy, he will be bored soon ...or he will go back to see Alaska Lover ? ? This is nutter to me !

I am soooo laughing over "Sushi and the Pup". It sounds like the name of some weird foreign cartoon or something....
